HARMONY AT HOME

The Harmony at Home toolkit supports social and emotional wellbeing for students and families during this difficult time. This toolkit offers a variety of lessons and activities, as well as guidance for parents and guardians to set Harmony Goals and use Meet Up and Buddy Up materials.

SCHOLASTIC LEARN AT HOME

Scholastic Learn at Home provides reading and writing resources for K-12 searchable by grade level. Writing prompts and other activities to engage early readers are available.

VARSITY TUTORS - VIRTUAL SCHOOL AND SUMMER CAMP

Varsity Tutors provides free live online classes and resources during school closures. In addition, they are providing virtual summer camps where students can engage in free week-long sessions that are fully interactive. The list of options endless!! Check it out today!

THE KIDS SHOULD SEE THIS

Science, technology, art, nature, music, storytelling, and other great stuff that will intrigue and inspire learners. This website hosts over 4,000 videos curated for teachers and parents who want to engage children in smarter and more meaningful media. 10-15 new videos are added weekly to this free resource appropriate for all ages.

THE NEW TEACHER PROJECT (TNTP)

The TNTP blog is an up to date, comprehensive view of resources for learning at home. The author provides tips as well as resources for short-term and extended closures.

LEAD4WARD

Lead4Ward has been a trusted resource for educators across Texas! In response to COVID-19, they have created a school at home resource that is perfect for teachers. All shared documents are created with the opportunity for teachers to edit and make their own.

KHAN ACADEMY

Khan Academy provides age appropriate learning resources for K-12. From elementary to high school test prep resources, the modules are interactive, and parents/teachers can easily track progress.

Raise Your Hand Texas - Raising Blended Learners series

Blended learning combines the best in person instruction with the integration of technology. While blended learning can’t take place without the face-to-face instruction, resources offered provide teachers and administrators with solution-oriented blended learning tools.

Designed for children in grades 2-5, the READS parents program is designed for parents, teachers, and community partners to read with their students and complete the associated activities. The READS reading routines support reading engagement and comprehension.

TEXAS HOME LEARNING

 The Texas Home Learning Model supports quality at-home learning for students by providing daily and weekly learning plans in all grades that can be started immediately in a student’s home environment.

Texas TLAC Online

TLAC online learning, supported by the TEA, provides online learning modules that teach Doug Lemov’s Teach Like a Champion teaching techniques. These modules provide opportunity for teachers to observe, see techniques modeled, and practice. ELL strategies are also available!

THE MEADOWS CENTER

Parents have been thrown into the role of home school teacher! Learn of a wealth of tools and resources created by the Meadows Center. These tools are designed to support parents in areas such as early language and literacy, helping your child with building vocabulary and comprehension, transitions, navigating difficult tasks, and establishing rewards systems. In times like these, we parents need all of the support we can get!
